This Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard will not be reported as a new account and your account open date will appear as the same date currently reported for your Capital One Walmart Rewards Card or Walmart Rewards Card on your credit file. The information previously reported to the credit bureaus will be updated with the name "CAPITAL ONE" and the credit bureaus will continue to receive updates based on your ongoing account performance. Even though this is not a new account, if you currently use credit monitoring services, they may send you a new account alert due to the name change to CAPITAL ONE. Please know this is the same account information and open date.
Credit scores take into account a variety of factors, which can include the type of credit card account you have but many other factors as well, including your payment history, other credit accounts you may have, your outstanding balances versus total available credit, length of credit history, etc. Moreover, there are several different credit scoring models (such as FICO, VantageScore and others), and they each will evaluate your card and other factors differently, resulting in different impacts to your credit scores. To find out more about your credit score, you can contact any of the three major credit bureaus (TransUnion, Equifax and Experian). Please note that Capital One will typically continue to send updates to the credit bureaus based on your ongoing account performance as we have done in the past.
Please go to walmart.capitalone.com/card-changes/rewardsterms to access the most current rewards terms that apply to your Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard.
There are changes to rewards redemption, and the date of this change will be noted in your Walmart® Change Notice Letter:
You'll keep the full value of all the rewards you've already earned.
Your rewards don't expire as long as your account is open. But if your account is closed, you may lose any rewards you have not redeemed. Accounts that are not in good standing (e.g., suspended, restricted, delinquent, or otherwise in default) or closed may have different redemption options or may lose any unredeemed rewards, as permitted by applicable law and your Capital One Customer Agreement.
There is no cap to the amount of rewards you can earn on eligible purchases.
You may change your automatic redemption preference at any time, but you cannot request an annual redemption to be fulfilled in the same month you make a change. If you have an automatic redemption preference, you may also make upon-request redemptions without interfering with your pre-established automatic redemption preference.
As part of the move to the Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard, you can redeem your travel rewards on Capital One Travel. Go online to travel.capitalone.com to book your flight, car rental or hotel, and use your cash back rewards to pay for your travel. If your travel transaction includes taxes, surcharges, and fees, these expenses will be included in the overall calculation to determine how many cash back rewards are required for redemption.
